This week our letter is 'p'

after a week of working with the letter 't' we are moving on this week to work with the 'p' sound.  Some activites have been posted on study ladder concerned with the letter 'p'.  If you could take a couple of minutes out of your time that would be great! I will be posting up some photos in the very near future, keep checking in to see what we have all been up to.

Study Ladder

Our class page on study ladder is: http://www.studyladder.co.uk/myschool/203915/myclass/469761,  Have a little look around.  If you click on your little avatar (cartoon person) it should take you in to a home page. I have set a couple of tasks to have a go at, all to do with the letter 's' ( 's' is our letter sound of the week this week) There is also a number game to have a go at.  Look forward to seeing how you all get on!

Reading Days!

As of next week I shall be starting the following reading days:
Monday - Caitlin, Murrin, Keely
Tuesday - Thomas, Ava-Mai, Rhys
Wednesday - Mitchell, Holly, Ieuan
Thursday - Corey-Lee, Zack, Amelie
Friday - Lukas, Bethany, Paigeleigh

If you can make effort to make sure your children have their reading books in on these days I can make sure that I get  to read with your child at least once a week.  If there are any problems please don't hesitate to ask!

Study Ladder

I have set up a online learning site for the children via www.studyladder.co.uk.  Each child in the class is to be given their own unique username and password which will be sent home in a letter along with a brief description of what study ladder is and how it works.  Basically It is a website which allows me to set little revision games and tasks for the children to complete at home, they are all pretty straightforward and easy to follow. I am hoping this year to bridge the gap between home and school and I think this will be an excellent way of helping children engage in their learning.

It's All Change.

Just a quick post to outline some of the changes that have been made since your children have returned to school (they have all been absolutely fantastic! Very proud teacher already!!).
-Can you please drop children off for school at the back (where they used to go in Nursery.) I will be in class and letting children through the fire door around the back from 9:05.
-Fruit tuck is now £1.50 a week, for that the children can choose their own piece of fruit to eat at break time everyday.
-This year the children are to be a given a designated reading day, I will be putting the list of the names and days on the blog by the end of the week.  I know that we all lead very busy lives but if you could please make the effort to read and record weekly, that will be a great help to me, but more importantly to the children.
-Hopefully this new blog will be a good means of communication, I will be working hard to update it on a regular basis, so keep checking back for any updates or notices.  It will also be a chance for you to see what we all get up to in school.
